FRENCH 75
The French 75 cocktail is a classic cocktail that has its roots in World War I. Its name is a reference to the 75 mm cannon, a powerful cannon used by the French army during the war... with a probable allusion to Paris (75). The history of the French 75 cocktail is a little hazy, but it is widely believed to have been created by Scottish bartender Harry MacElhone at Harry's New York Bar in Paris, frequented by American soldiers and expatriates during the war.
