DAÏKIRI
The cocktail is said to have been invented by an American engineer, Jennings Cox, who was in Cuba at the beginning of the 20th century. Legend has it that he only had rum, lemons and sugar in his cellar. He mixed these items in a shaker with ice: A teaspoon of sugar was poured over the ice and a lime was squeezed over the sugar. Finally, we added the rum. Daiquirí is the name of a Cuban beach located not far from Santiago de Cuba, which is surely the origin of the name of this famous cocktail!
